Hog Roast Ellenborough Had A Fab Doctor Who Day!

Hog Roast Ellenborough had an absolutely brilliant time on Wednesday night! In celebration of Doctor Who Day, a.k.a. TARDIS Day, our catering team had been asked to lend a helping hand at Robin’s party!

Marking 59 years since the popular sci-fi show’s original air date, Robin had organised an intimate but fun-filled bash for all of the fellow Whovians in his life to enjoy. The party took place at his private residence, which he had decorated with props, balloons and banners suited to the theme.

Unfortunately, due to the miserable weather we’ve been having in Cumbria lately, everyone was forced to stay inside for the duration of the evening, but that didn’t stop Hog Roast Ellenborough from doing everything in their power to give the client and his guests an incredible evening!

Leading the team, Phil cooked up a stunning hog roast, which after hours of slow-roasting in our HogMaster, had taken on a striking golden colour with lovely patches of charcoal in all the right spots. Contrasting with the beautifully crisp exterior, the inside was moist, tender and soft, which added a sense of balance to the meal.

Hog Roast EllenboroughAfter Phil had expertly carved the hog, he and the team served up the meat on gluten-free and wholemeal rolls with sage and onion stuffing and applesauce, along with a generous dollop of gourmet coleslaw, mixed sweet potato and regular fries and a helping of salad. The guests ventured outside to collect the food before returning to the cosy confines of Robin’s home, where they happily binge-watched their favourite episodes of Doctor Who and munched on the delicious food our team had prepared.

In between episodes, the guests rushed outside to ask for extra helpings of the food Hog Roast Ellenborough had made, and, of course, our team were happy to assist! The group were in complete awe of how fresh and delicious the food tasted and couldn’t get enough. So, before our team packed away our equipment and headed home, they compiled all of the leftovers into a buffet in Robin’s living room, which the guests were free to pick away at throughout the night.
