Cumbria, like most of the UK, has been awash with rain showers as of late – but that hasn’t dampened Hog Roast Gatehouse of Fleet’s spirits! We’ve still been busy catering for events in the area and have had a great time doing so!
On Saturday, we were privileged to attend a local food festival, which saw us hit the high street with our tantalisingly tasty hog roast rolls. We were among 15 other vendors to attend this small-scale event, and while the temperamental weather did a good job of deterring a lot of the public, those who were willing to brave the showers were very glad they did!
Hog Roast Gatehouse of Fleet’s crusty cobs stuffed with sumptuous pulled pork, applesauce, sage and onion stuffing, and crispy crackling were just what the doctor ordered on a cold and wet day. The flavour-packed combo was a big hit with the attendees, so much so that our team served many of the same faces more than once.
Throughout the day, our team received so many compliments from guests regarding how impressive our food tasted, which was wonderful to hear. Many of the guests were so impressed by our traditional hog roast that they even stopped to ask about the cooking process, and as always, our catering manager, Phil, was happy to share the details!
We also had a chat with some attendees who informed us that they will be looking to plan events in the near future, and after trying our food and falling in love with the flavours, they said they would love it if Hog Roast Gatehouse of Fleet did them the honour of catering. Fortunately, Phil had brought along plenty of business cards for the interested parties to take home.
We’re excited to share that one member of the crowd has already been in touch with Hog Roast Gatehouse of Fleet since the food festival took place, and Phil has been gladly helping them put together an outstanding meal plan for their upcoming celebration. The feast they’ve picked will, of course, be featuring our namesake hog roast, which the client is looking forward to introducing their loved ones to!
