Hog Roast Wigtown had the privilege of assisting Angie and Simon with their engagement party last Friday! The couple, who have been together for over five years, finally surprised their family and friends with the brilliant news of their pending nuptials last month, and to celebrate them taking the next step in their relationship, they had decided to plan a party, which, naturally, was attended by all of their closest friends and relatives.
Angie and Simon had their heart set on a classy evening with their 75 guests, and before reaching out to us, they secured a booking for a high-end lake house hotel venue for the evening. Located in the thick of the countryside, this stunning building couldn’t have been more perfect for the couple’s needs, and Hog Roast Wigtown was proud to make the atmosphere even better with our beautiful Alfresco Menu with an additional grazing table.
Our crew had spent all afternoon working on this spread in preparation for the party, which kicked off at 7 pm on Friday, and we’re delighted to announce that their hard work paid off – big time! The impressive banquet, which centred around a classic hog roast with crackling, stuffing and applesauce, was admired by all who attended. And as if that wasn’t enough to get their appetites going, our team had also set up a table with creamy coleslaw, salad options, mixed fries and charcuterie boards, which overflowed with Italian deli meats, fragrant cheeses, a selection of artisan breads, sundried tomatoes, olives and a choice of dressings to pick from.
This top-class menu was rounded off with two dessert options: homemade individual cheesecakes and chocolate torte, which were served as a buffet with mixed berries and fresh cream. The final touch was the grazing table, which Hog Roast Wigtown had covered with sweet and savoury snacks for the guests to help themselves to as the night progressed.
Angie, Simon and their guests couldn’t hide their amazement at Hog Roast Wigtown’s efforts and the couple have since reached out to thank us once again for an incredible night and to ask us if we’d be free to cater for their wedding next year. And just like Angie to Simon, we said YES!
