Several months ago, Hog Roast Crosthwaite was hired to cater for the Easter Monday bank holiday at a local community centre. The centre was hosting an event for local people to enjoy, with Easter arts and crafts, face painting, an egg hunt, and an activity trail. For the menu, our team was planning on serving a Gourmet BBQ for the occasion, since this menu is the most varied and has plenty for guests of all ages to enjoy. This event was sure to be a lot of fun and it is always great to bring local people together.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Crosthwaite team arrived at the community centre in the morning and began to prepare for the midday serving time. We set up our catering station in the car park, with a gazebo for shelter since we can never rely on the weather on a bank holiday! For the main dishes, we served succulent pork sausages, marinated chicken kebabs, juicy beef burgers, halloumi and vegetable skewers, and BBQ spare ribs. These dishes were served in fresh bread rolls, with gluten-free rolls also on offer. Additionally, we provided homemade chips, sweet potato fries, mac and cheese, corn cobettes, crunchy coleslaw, and a green leaf salad. This menu had more than enough for everyone to enjoy, allowing each guest to create a delicious buffet lunch. Luckily, the weather held up and our catering could be enjoyed in the sunshine, which made the day even better!
