Jess came to us a little while back with the exciting news that she and her husband, Colin, are expecting to welcome their second child very soon – in less than 2 months’ time, to be exact! And as they missed out on the chance to host any pregnancy-related parties during Jess’s first pregnancy due to Covid and its subsequent lockdowns, the couple was very keen to celebrate the arrival of their second baby with a traditional baby shower.
The couple had planned an intimate event with no more than 50 guests, which went ahead at a cosy party room in the village hall. And with more than enough on their plates as parents of a rambunctious toddler and one on the way, the pair were very glad to have chosen Hog Roast Barrhill to handle the catering.
Our catering manager, Phil, made sure that the lead-up to the baby shower was as smooth and stress-free as possible for Jess and Colin, which they were very appreciative of. And on the day of the party, our team also helped the clients with decorating the venue with pink balloons, streamers and twinkling lights and setting up the tables in preparation for the guests’ arrival.
The couple were thrilled with the service provided by Hog Roast Barrhill in the hours leading up to the party, but our crew hadn’t finished impressing them just yet! The Classic Hog Roast Menu, which our team had spent upwards of 4 hours preparing, left them and the guests utterly speechless.
The rich and intense flavours of the beautifully tender meat were complemented by the sharpness of our homemade applesauce and the texture of the salted crackling. They also loved our homemade savoury sage and onion stuffing, which had been cooked in the juices of the pork for an extra impactful flavour.
