When Harry and Emma first got engaged last summer, they knew right away that they wanted their big day to be as unique as possible. So, like many fun-loving couples, they decided to plan a themed wedding!
After brainstorming lots of different ideas, the pair finally agreed on an Alice in Wonderland wedding, which transpired to be a magical affair that will never be forgotten. Not only did the couple hire an amazing team of wedding planners to help them design a beautiful and memorable day, but they also had Hog Roast Grizebeck catering the event, which saw the couple’s 80 guests treated to a sumptuous spread of fresh and tasty dishes.
On the day of Harry and Emma’s storybook wedding, our team, led by catering manager, Frank, headed to the remote woodland venue where they worked tirelessly to create the couple’s dream wedding menu. This included juicy pulled pork rolls with homemade sage and onion stuffing, crackling and applesauce with sides of Greek salad, gourmet coleslaw and herb-dressed new potatoes.
Our team also made sure to provide a couple of meat-free dishes, comprising grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs and veggie burgers, along with Italian charcuterie boards and a grazing table of sweet and savoury snacks for the guests to dig into throughout the celebrations.
While Frank and the Hog Roast Grizebeck team expertly prepared this wholesome spread, Harry and Emma’s event team busily transformed the forest clearing into something that resembled the Mad Hatter’s tea party, with plenty of colours, lots of whimsical decorations and props that paid homage to Lewis Carroll’s iconic story – such as white roses with tasteful splatters of red paint.
The scene was like stepping into a storybook – or through the looking glass, we should say – and the guests were mesmerised when they laid eyes on the arrangement.
After everyone was seated and the speeches had been shared, Hog Roast Grizebeck unveiled the buffet, which filled the group with even more excitement. Wasting no time, they formed a queue and filled their plates with flavour-packed menu items, which were so delicious, few could resist second helpings!
