With this heatwave of the past few weeks it has been nothing but prime barbecue weather up and down the country. That, however, has sparked a new argument in our Hog Roast Aspatria offices that perhaps some of you may be able to weigh in on.
With the barbecue being top of the list of services that our customers have been ordering during this heatwave, our team have got to debating what the pillars of the barbecue are. We can all basically agree that a sausage and a burger are the first things on the grill, but what we have not been able to agree on is what would take that third spot if you were to have a top three. We’ve had all kinds of suggestions from bacon being the undisputed, objective third food that is synonymous with the barbecue to chicken thighs, veg skewers, halloumi, even marshmallows for melting!
So, then, we want to you to help settle this debate and decide on what the undisputed top three foods of the barbecue are. We’re talking the three foods that when a barbecue is mentioned you immediately expect to see them on the grill when you arrive to the party. There has been a unanimous agreement that burgers and sausages are one and two, though we would be interested to hear if anyone else has any added thoughts on that. Here at Hog Roast Aspatria we pay our own homage to these two barbecue classics in our own gourmet barbecue range. Our chefs handmake our burgers and sausages from our top quality, locally reared meats. It’s butcher level quality, because any barbecue is worth only the best available!
Our gourmet barbecue then, however, has a load more foods on the menu. An outside choice, our marinated ribs, may not seem like the obvious barbecue option but we can assure you that they are delicious. In terms of a classic barbecue choice it may not be everyone’s immediate choice, however. Perhaps instead it might be our chicken thighs or our skewers. Easy to cook options which is what you want in a barbecue, and delicious and comforting to eat!
