It feels like wedding season has kicked off early this year, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! At Hog Roast Keswick, we’ve been on a whirlwind tour of nuptials, and we’re beyond grateful to every couple who’s trusted us to bring the flavour to their big day.
From charming converted barns to idyllic lakeside cottages, we’ve had the pleasure of visiting some of the most breathtaking spots Cumbria has to offer. Talk about living the dream, am I right?
As for our latest wedding adventure? Just WOW! Cumbrian lovebirds Denise and Graham decided to take their big day to the races – literally. They booked a local racetrack as their venue, and with its sweeping countryside views and space for a whopping 300 guests, it was a celebration to remember.
The guests embraced the occasion, donning their most fabulous race-day attire. Picture fascinators, top hats, and dazzling outfits as far as the eye could see. The atmosphere was buzzing, and the excitement in the air was as infectious as a winning streak at the betting window!
Now, feeding a crowd of this size might make some caterers break a sweat, but at Hog Roast Keswick, we thrive on epic challenges. Denise and Graham went all out with our most extravagant wedding menu, kicking things off with elegant canapés and welcome drinks. Then came the show-stopping starter: smoked Scottish salmon served with Atlantic prawns, Bloody Mary sauce, and brown bread – pure luxury on a plate.
But the real showstopper? The main feast, of course! Our signature hog roast buffet was the talk of the event, featuring succulent pork, crispy crackling, sage and onion stuffing, and tangy applesauce. For those craving something different, we served up garlic and rosemary-studded lamb, plus delicious grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs for the veggie lovers. With fresh side salads, creamy coleslaw, and indulgent dauphinoise potatoes, every bite was a taste of heaven.
And just when guests thought they couldn’t eat another bite – boom! Dessert time. Sticky toffee pudding and delicate vacherins of strawberries with passion fruit cream had everyone swooning.
As the night rolled on and a fresh wave of 100 party-ready guests arrived, Hog Roast Keswick kept the good vibes going with a legendary late-night buffet. Hot bacon and sausage barms, complete with all the trimmings, kept the energy levels high and the dance floor packed.
Now, that’s a wedding we won’t forget anytime soon!
