What can we say about wedding season 2026 other than the fact it might just be our best one yet? And having worked through thirty-plus of them, that really is saying something!

Our team has been privileged with back-to-back celebrations since the flowers started blooming in spring, and even though October has officially entered the chat, things aren’t showing any signs of slowing down for us. You won’t catch us complaining, though.
You might think catering the same kind of event again and again would get a bit dull. But honestly, it’s the total opposite. We’re delighted that weddings are our bread and butter here at Hog Roast Barrow-in-Furness, and since no two are even remotely alike, every single one feels like a brand new adventure.
We’ve loved being kept busy with celebrations of all shapes and sizes, and our latest booking took us to Vickerstown Cricket Club for Sinead’s big day. If you haven’t been before, the best thing about Vickerstown is how spacious it is. With 100 guests, Sinead needed somewhere roomy for the celebrations to unfold, and this spot couldn’t have been more perfect.
With lots of space outside too, Hog Roast Barrow-in-Furness had no trouble finding somewhere to set up our catering gazebo, which soon housed one of our famous hog roasts. After hours of slow roasting over an open flame, the pig turned out irresistibly juicy, and guests were practically clamouring for a piece. Don’t worry, though. We always make more than enough to go around, so nobody’s plate stayed empty – in fact, plenty of people snuck back for seconds. Maybe thirds? Honestly, we stopped counting.
To cut through all that rich, juicy pork, we also laid out a bountiful buffet of fresh side options. Seasonal green leaf salad, coleslaw, and gluten-free rolls and wraps were presented in bamboo bowls for guests to dig in, plus there was a choice of grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs or BBQ pulled jackfruit for the non-meat-eaters. Nobody was left feeling left out, which is exactly how it should be.
Sinead was absolutely delighted with the results. The food was fresh, tasty and looked the part, which is everything she’d hoped for. It was a joy to be part of her day, and the cricket club made it easy for us to do what we do best.
If you’re planning a wedding of your own, whether it’s a cosy gathering or a big old bash, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch with Hog Roast Barrow-in-Furness today and let’s get your menu sorted.
